Dieudonne Shimirwa

Managing Director & CEO

Dieudonne Shimirwa is civil engineer and entrepreneur with 13 years of experience in construction and project management, he has participated in various large scale construction projects such as RICA, Ellen DeGeneres campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, New Bugesera international airport, and Nyungwe Management park HeadQuarters. He has also been active in residential  and commercial construction in Rwanda. Throughout those projects and experience, he has developed a great deal of knowledge on team management, focusing on respect and transparency to everyone which is the core value of Turiforma. Dieudonne is registered as a professional engineer in IER (Institution of Engineers Rwanda). As MD and co-founder of Turiforma, he is combining his local implementation experience and international standard for high quality project delivery

James Blackman

Chief Finance Officer

As CFO and Cofounder at Turiforma, James brings extensive experience in project management, engineering, and sustainable construction. His background includes residential and commercial construction in Canada where he specialized in rammed earth construction, demonstrating his commitment to green building. James was also Sr. Construction Manager at MASS Build and Project Manager at Remote Partners in Kigali, Rwanda where he oversaw major institutional construction projects. As a Product Engineer at Honda of Canada Mfg, he honed his skills in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and team leadership. His experience demonstrates a commitment to holistic value creation, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving, making him a valuable asset to the Turiforma team.

Adam McDonald

Chief Technical Officer

Adam is an architect, construction manager, and technology innovator with 20+ years of experience delivering complex projects worldwide. He has led the technical execution of custom façade systems for Google, Amazon, and Stanford University Hospital, overseeing design detailing, fabrication, and installation. As Site Superintendent in Rwanda, he managed large-scale projects, overseeing all on-site activities, team coordination, sequencing, and logistics. Previously at a non-profit, he developed digital automation tools to streamline construction workflows in Nepal, Colombia, and the Philippines, which led to national subsidy programs supporting housing retrofits in collaboration with their governments. With expertise in building technology, digital fabrication, and Lean methodologies, Adam continues to pursue innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions in the built environment.
